The regular meeting of the Town of Pines Town Council was called to order at 6:30p.m.
Cathi led us in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. In attendance were: Cathi Murray, George Adey, Vicki Kuzio, Alan Murray, and Sandra Hall. Dan was absent.
Vicki made a motion to accept the minutes from the September meeting and George seconded the motion and the motion was voted on and passed 3-0.
Will have a report on Town Hall drawings under Old Business.
Building and Zoning Administrator
Alan issued 3 permits this month. Mr. Dobkins is still making progress. He has put up a fence to help keep unsightly things out of view of his neighbors. Auditors office says that our petition for money on the Nespo property was not made in the right timing. Alan did an inspection at 4430 W Dunes Hwy.
Vicki reported that the brush throughout the Town is being picked up and that leaf pick-up will begin soon. Leaf pick-up will be when the leaves have fallen until the first snow fall. Dan will have an estimate for 2nd Street by next meeting.
Jody Melton of the NIRPC Emergency Management Program asked us to be included in a state wide program for emergency insurance or aid.
Cathi is working with a FEMA representative regarding the Town taking part in the flood insurance from FEMA. The Town is taking steps to become involved in this program, but it will take time.
Sandra presented the Town Council with 2 proposals on making drawing for a new Town Hall. George made a motion to accept the proposal from Gerometta & Kinel Architects, Inc. from Chesterton, Indiana and Vicki seconded the motion and the motion was voted on and passed 3-0.
There will be a Plan Commission meeting on November 10, 2010.
